This Japanese “Kagi-gata” scraper, handcrafted by Hishika Industry and signed by Bessho Jirō, is a tool made from steel scraps used in the manufacture of Japanese saws. The term Kagi-gata means “key shape” or “hook shape,” a geometry specifically designed to access tight and precise spaces, such as the grooves of Japanese sliding doors (fusuma) or wooden rails.

Thanks to its dual-length profile – one long side 20 mm and one short side 17 mm – this scraper allows you to work directly in the groove , without touching the adjacent surfaces.
