This Japanese plane, signed Chiyotsuru Sadahide , is a piece of very high Japanese craftsmanship , intended for fine finishing and final surface work.
It is made by Naoki Morita , third generation of the Chiyotsuru Sadahide lineage, renowned in Japan for the excellence of its traditional planes.
The Shunkei finish highlights the wood while retaining the classic aesthetic of high-end Japanese tools.
The Aogami steel blade (blue steel) allows for an extremely fine cutting edge , essential for the final passes, when surface quality is paramount.
The Japanese white oak sole, approximately 285 mm long, is prepared to a thickness of approximately 24 to 27 mm , ensuring stability, inertia and precision during planing.
Presented in a paulownia wood case , this plane is suitable for both the workshop and a collection of exceptional tools.
Like all traditional Japanese planes, this tool is delivered not ready to use : sharpening of the blade and adjustment of the sole are necessary before use.
