This Japanese chamfer plane, signed Umehiro , is a traditional tool designed to create precise 30° or 60° chamfers. It is a Sarubo Mentori Kanna model, renowned for its ability to create clean and regular edges on various types of wood, ideal for decorative finishing, joinery work, or visible edges.

The blade is forged from Japanese Blue Steel (Aogami), a premium steel renowned for its long-lasting edge, strength, and exceptional sharpness. The plane's body is crafted from Japanese White Oak (Shirogashi), a dense, stable, and durable wood traditionally used for high-end planes. The plane's nose is reinforced with a brass plate, enhancing precision, durability, and smoothness.

Like all handcrafted Japanese planes, this model is not ready to use. It requires initial sharpening and fitting to a wooden handle to reach its optimal performance. Each piece is handmade, resulting in slight variations from one plane to another.
