This Japanese Arigotoku plane, crafted by the renowned Tsunesaburo workshop, is designed for precision work where a clean, controlled cut is essential. The Arigotoku model is a specialized plane offering remarkable stability, particularly appreciated for joinery, fine adjustments, and delicate work on solid wood. Its geometry allows for precise material removal while maintaining excellent maneuverability.
The blade is forged from Blue Steel #1 (Aogami 1) , a premium steel renowned for its high hardness, long-lasting edge, and exceptional cutting precision. The body is crafted from Japanese white oak, a dense and stable wood that withstands cutting pressure perfectly and provides an excellent feel in the hand. Each plane is hand-fitted and requires initial sharpening and fitting to achieve optimal performance.
Available in three widths— 48 mm, 55 mm, and 70 mm —this plane covers a variety of uses, from fine work to larger surfaces. Like all Japanese handcrafted tools, each piece may exhibit slight variations due to its entirely handmade nature, guaranteeing a unique character and authentic craftsmanship.
