This Japanese cane holder, model “cannon” A-02, is made of kokutan , a very dense wood with a naturally black tint, often likened to ebony.
Its distinctive feature is its so-called “camel” shape :
This refers to a slightly domed silhouette , with a central high point, reminiscent of a camel's hump.
This shape improves weight distribution and contributes to better rod stability .
The rod holder is equipped with a rear angle adjustment screw , allowing the tilt to be adjusted without removing the rod , a practical advantage when making fine adjustments in herabuna fishing.
