This handcrafted Japanese rod holder , made by Mankyu , is intended for traditional herabuna fishing .
This is a unique piece , crafted from juniper wood , fully respecting the natural shape of the material.
In Japan, this type of walking stick holder is sometimes called a manriki :
manriki = rod holder used to hold the rod on the fishing station .
In this document, the term rod holder is intentionally preferred for clarity.
The model shown adopts an arched shape , which ensures both stability, solidity and visual elegance.
The main body and base are carved from a single piece of wood , without gluing or assembly, which guarantees excellent resistance over time.
The clamping part, which holds the cane, particularly highlights the grain of the juniper and the natural curves of the wood.
No two identical pieces can exist: each rod holder is strictly unique .
