This handcrafted Japanese rod holder , made by the craftsman Mankyu , is intended for traditional herabuna fishing .
It is crafted from juniper wood , preserving as much of the material's natural shape as possible, making each piece totally unique.
In Japan, this type of rod holder is sometimes called manriki , a term referring to a support used to hold the rod on the fishing station .
In this document, the term rod holder is intentionally preferred for clear understanding on the European side.
The main body and base are made from a single piece , without gluing or assembly. This one-piece construction ensures excellent strength and stability during use.
The clamping area highlights the natural grain of the juniper, giving the whole a character that is both functional and aesthetic.
