This Aoka red-backed shogi set is specially designed for beginners and children. The characters are large, clear, and very easy to read, making it one of the most recommended sets for learning shogi.

These are "pressed" pieces : the characters are formed using a relief mold, then pressed into the wood. This technique produces strong, durable, and affordable pieces, while maintaining excellent legibility.
