The NANIWA Akaebi GC #220 is a coarse Japanese sharpening stone designed for heavy correction work and restoring damaged edges. Thanks to its excellent abrasive capacity, it quickly removes material to correct chips, reshape a bevel, or prepare a blade before intermediate sharpening.

Made in Japan from a GC (Green Carbide) abrasive, this stone offers particularly effective cutting power on many types of steel. It is perfect for knives, chisels, Japanese planes, and other sharp tools requiring significant restoration.

Its large size and heavy weight ensure excellent stability during sharpening, making it very pleasant to use for demanding tasks. Before use, the stone should be immersed in water for about 5 to 10 minutes to ensure good impregnation. After use, it is recommended to clean the surface and then allow it to dry naturally, away from direct sunlight and sudden temperature changes.

To maintain optimal performance, regular surface maintenance with a flattening stone is recommended to keep it perfectly flat.
