The kiridashi Unryu 21 mm is an exceptional piece forged by a master blacksmith specializing in Japanese plane blades.
This blade is made of Aogami #1 (Blue Paper Steel #1), produced by charcoal reduction during the Showa era, then forged and welded onto a wrought iron body . This traditional process eliminates impurities, improves the steel's toughness, and provides remarkable edge retention.
The wrought iron used as a support has a characteristic fibrous structure. It sharpens easily and produces a fine grinding slurry, contributing to a particularly precise cutting edge.
The surface features a natural wood pattern , the result of forging and craftsmanship. Each piece is unique.
Single bevel knife (right-handed) , ideal for tracing work, fine carving, marquetry and wood fitting.
Delivered in a paulownia wood box.
