This set of 10 Japanese woodworking scissors (Oire Nomi) is handcrafted in Japan by Toshiaki Ouchi , a fourth-generation blacksmith from a lineage renowned for the exceptional quality of its traditional cutting tools.
Oire Nomi chisels are designed for precision woodworking and cabinetmaking : traditional joinery, mortises, fine fitting, and mallet work. Their balanced geometry allows for precise control and a clean cut, even in hardwoods.
The blades are forged from Japanese White Steel No. 2 (Shirogami #2) , a very pure carbon steel, renowned for its extremely fine edge, cutting stability and ease of sharpening.
The handles are made of Japanese white oak , with the heartwood preserved, offering excellent shock absorption and high durability.
The set comes in a paulownia wood box , with handwritten inscription, highlighting the handcrafted and unique character of this set intended for demanding professionals and enthusiasts.
As each piece is hand-forged, slight variations may exist and are part of the product's authenticity.
