This set of two Kiridashi Masayuki knives is a handcrafted work created by the blacksmith Masayuki Baba.
Each knife features a hand-hammered pattern, requiring approximately 1200 hammer blows to create the unique texture.
The knives are made from Shirogami #1 steel, a very pure Japanese steel containing around 1.5% carbon, offering exceptional sharpness.
The steel used comes from an old stock acquired over 45 years ago, which is now very rare.
These knives feature a full-tang construction (handle and blade from a single piece), giving them excellent strength and balanced weight.
Each piece is individually handmade and can be considered a collector's item for Japanese tool enthusiasts.
The set comes in a traditional wooden box.
The Japanese kiridashi is a traditional knife used for woodworking, carving, and precision tasks.
Thanks to its very hard steel, it allows for clean and controlled cuts.
