The Higonokami Sadakoma Aogami Hand Forged Laminated Blade is a premium version of the famous Japanese folding knife Higonokami , manufactured by Nagao Kanekoma Seisakusho , the only manufacturer authorized to use the Higonokami trademark.
This model is forged using the traditional Japanese warikomi (inserted steel) technique. The blade consists of an Aogami (Blue Paper Steel) core sandwiched between two layers of laminated steel. This construction results in an exceptionally sharp edge, excellent durability, and a long cutting life.
Because the manufacturing process is entirely handcrafted , each blade has a unique pattern created by the forging process, making each knife slightly different.
The solid brass handle offers excellent strength and develops a natural patina over time, which is highly prized by collectors.
This Tokudai model is larger than the classic Higonokami, offering a better grip and superior cutting capacity.
This knife can be used for DIY and crafts, light gardening, outdoor activities, or as part of a collection of traditional Japanese tools.
The knife comes in a paulownia (kiribako) wood box , used in Japan to store precious objects.
