This handcrafted Japanese counter on a base – model #4 is made by Matsumura from black persimmon (kurogaki) selected for its exceptional Kujaku-moku veining , literally “peacock veining” .
Kujaku-moku is one of the rarest and most sought-after natural patterns in black persimmon wood. Its deep, shimmering reflections are reminiscent of a peacock's feathers, giving this piece a spectacular visual presence.
Each piece is absolutely unique , both in its design and its color. This counter far transcends its utilitarian function to become an object of art , intended for collectors, lovers of rare woods, artisans, or enthusiasts of Japanese culture.
