These Japanese thread-cutting scissors can be used in herabuna fishing for the precise cutting of fine threads , leaders , and delicate adjustments at the water's edge. They are also useful in sewing, textiles, and crafts.
Each pair is hand-forged , one by one, by a Japanese craftsman, using very high-quality Yasugi Shirogami #1 steel .
This steel is combined with mild iron , forming a composite steel that offers both:
-
high hardness for exceptional sharpness
-
controlled flexibility to avoid breakage
The surface benefits from a mirror-polished finish (Migaki) , highlighting Japanese craftsmanship.
The scissors are delivered in a wooden (paulownia) box , traditionally used to protect valuable tools.
On the other hand, they are designed as a fine cutting tool and do not replace robust fishing scissors intended for cutting thick lines , modern braids , or hard materials .
They integrate perfectly as a high-end complementary tool in a herabuna setup.
