This set of Japanese thread cutter scissors with Hagoita case is part of the Kibuna (喜鮒) series, developed by Matsuoka Fishing for traditional Japanese fishing, especially herabuna fishing .

The case adopts a pocket-sized format without a lid , allowing immediate removal of the scissors .
Its design is inspired by the traditional Japanese Hagoita racket , giving it a flat and elongated shape, exclusive to the Kibuna range, which is both practical and aesthetic.

It is made of Keyaki (Japanese zelkova) , a wood emblematic of Japanese craftsmanship, renowned for its strength , durability , and highly expressive grain . Historically used for temples, furniture, and prestigious objects, Keyaki develops a patina that only improves with age.

Each case is made from carefully selected natural wood , making each piece unique in its grain and color.

The set comes with 90mm Belmont Japanese wire cutters , made in Echigo Sanjō , a major center of Japanese metallurgy.
