Handcrafted in the Banshu region of Japan, it combines a core of Shirogami No. 2 white carbon steel with a laminated mild iron structure. This combination offers an extremely sharp edge, excellent cutting quality, and ease of sharpening.
Its Nakauchi profile (medium, thin, and elongated blade) allows for clean work on wide grooves, adjustments to traditional joinery, and elegant surface finishing. It is particularly well-suited to woods such as cherry or cypress, which are neither too hard nor too soft.
