This 36mm Nakauchi Japanese chisel is one of the standard professional models in the Honmammon range. Handcrafted in the Banshu region, it combines tradition, precision, and efficiency.
Its Shirogami No. 2 white carbon steel blade, laminated onto a soft iron body, offers an extremely fine edge and is very easy to sharpen. The Nakauchi profile (medium, thin, and elongated blade) allows for clean, crisp surfaces while maintaining excellent precision.
With its 36 mm width, it is particularly well-suited for planing large surfaces, finishing joints, and creating precise grooves . It excels on woods such as cherry or cypress, which are neither too hard nor too soft, where the fineness of the cut reveals its full quality.
