The Japanese Honmammon Nakauchi 42 mm chisel is handcrafted in the Banshu region of Japan for carpentry, cabinet making, and finishing work requiring precision and consistency. Its Shirogami #2 (White Paper Steel) blade offers exceptional sharpness, excellent cutting quality, and easy sharpening, ideal for surface planing, joinery, and groove cleaning.
Its traditional construction combines a carbon steel core with a laminated soft iron body to ensure an excellent balance of performance and durability. Like all handcrafted Japanese chisels, it is not ready for immediate use and requires sharpening and adjustment before first use.
